Jack Grealish's girlfriend Sasha Attwood has opened up on the abuse she received on social media during Euro 2020.

Grealish was one of the stars of England's side, as they reached their first men's final in 55 years, even when he wasn't starting games.

The mere sight of the Aston Villa captain warming up on the side of the pitch was enough to have the crowds cheering at Wembley, and one woman really showed off her love for the player with her 'Mrs Jack Grealish' shirt.

Whilst the player was receiving plenty of plaudits on the pitch, it appears that his girlfriend was getting lots of abuse off it.

Attwood, who has a lot of followers on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, revealed she receives death threats against her and her family.

"I was receiving 200 death threats a day. I'm not exaggerating when I say that," Attwood revealed on her YouTube channel.

"I had so many messages every single day. I still get them now, all day every day.

"They said, 'I hope you get cancer and die' or 'I hope your whole family dies'.

"They say, 'I hope the next time you're in the car you crash it and die, I hope after Wembley you die'."

Whilst Grealish already had a high profile before the Euros, it skyrocketed during the tournament due to his performances and cult following.

Attwood added that the tournament made things worse for her on social media, "Things have obviously blown up over the Euros, but I never thought in a million years it would ever be this bad.

"It just kind of blows my mind how nasty people can be for no reason whatsoever. I've always been quite a strong person, I've always been very good at blocking out people's opinions. But it's on a whole other level.

"It's just crazy. It's the nasty messages about my appearance, people's opinions. What are you all doing? It's embarrassing.

"You hear people talking about trolling, but I never realised how bad it actually was. The scary thing is, it's young girls.

"I'd go on these girls' accounts who have sent me stuff and they're 13 or 14. It's so sad. I try to put it down to age but then I think when I was that age I never sent a message like that.

"I think it's so toxic, social media, and it's really sad these generations have grown up thinking that it's OK to say things like that.

"Why are you doing it? Please ask yourself why.

"If you're one of those people who goes out of your way to make a fake account or to send a horrible message, wishing someone was dead or talking about their appearance, or talking about their personal life, why, what are you getting out of it?

"It was a real s*** time, it was actually horrible, and I was feeling so anxious . . . it was not nice at all.

"I didn't ask for any of that, didn't ask for anything to be put out there, but it's out there, isn't it, and I'm just going to continue to carry on as normal."

Grealish's teammates Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka were all the subject of vile social media abuse after the final, with the trio all missing penalties in the shootout against Italy.

The 25-year-old Villa star has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City, with the Premier League champions having reportedly made a £100 million offer.
