Xherdan Shaqiri deservedly picked up the Man of the Match award after coming off the bench to score twice in seven minutes and seal a 3-1 win for Liverpool over Manchester United.

Jamie Carragher, the most famous Liverpool player to wear the No.23, presented the trophy to the man currently wearing his old number and he couldn't help but stir the pot and mention Gary Neville.

"Gary Neville was supposed to give it to you but he didn't want to face you," Carra joked on Sky Sports and that prompted Shaqiri to respond by simply saying: "Tell him I said hello".

Shaqiri and Neville have a bit of bad blood between them after the latter called him "unprofessional" and a "disgrace" following Stoke City's relegation to the Championship.

After sealing his Β£13.5 million move to Liverpool, Shaqiri hit back in an interview with The Telegraph.

"They [the Nevilles] were Manchester United players. Maybe they don't like Liverpool! Some people like you, some people don't like you. I don't want to comment on what is said by people I don't know," he said.

"I think I played three years already in the Premier League and I've proved I can play here. I can score goals and give assists. I know the league well. I have a lot of experience. I think my score points speak for themselves. I was the top scorer in the team with goals and assists, so I don't have to say any more.

"I think everybody knows that [I was the best player last season]. My conscience is clear."

Then, in August, Neville ended up wearing a signed shirt from Shaqiri on Monday Night Football after losing a bet with Carragher.

We're still waiting for the Hell in a Cell match between Neville and Shaqiri, with Carragher as special guest referee.Featured Image Credit:
