Arsenal flop Shkodran Mustafi has bragging rights over soon-to-be Manchester United player Harry Maguire when it comes to stat comparisons last season.
The Red Devils are closing in on a world-record transfer fee for a defender after agreeing to meet Leicester City's £80m price tag for Maguire, 26.
But Mustafi, 27, can boast that he had much better stats than the Leicester star in the previous campaign.
According to the Sun, both Mustafi and Maguire played 31 matches each and their respective sides conceded 40 times while they were playing.
And that's where the two defenders are equal in stats, with Mustafi outdoing the England international in many other areas.
The Gunners centre-back, who has surprisingly attracted interest from French side Monaco, had much higher interceptions, percentage of tackles won and clearances compared to Maguire.
Posted below is a full side-by-side comparison of their stats.
Blocks: Maguire, 18; Mustafi, 17
Interceptions: Maguire, 37; Mustafi, 58
Tackles: Maguire, 31; Mustafi, 62
Tackles won: Maguire, 17; Mustafi, 45
Percentage of tackles won: Maguire, 55 per cent; Mustafi, 73 per cent
Clearances: Maguire, 152; Mustafi, 161
Headed clearances: Maguire, 77; Mustafi, 106
Aerial duels won: Maguire, 118; Mustafi, 123
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that both sides have agreed on a fee for Maguire.
"There has been contact between the two clubs, a fee has been agreed and then it's a case of Harry having an opportunity to speak to them to see if he can find an agreement on personal terms," he said after his side's pre-season 2-1 win over Atalanta.
"That's something that is of interest to him. And then, of course, a medical. Apart from that, there is not a great deal more to say.
"Probably after the weekend we will know more. But it's clear, of course, the two teams have been talking and a fee has been agreed."
Will Maguire be a hit at United?
