In the build up to Swansea's Premier League tie against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon, many were discussing the eagerly anticipated debut of 20-year-old midfielder Renato Sanches.
On loan from Bayern Munich, the Portuguese international struggled to make an impression in Carlo Ancelotti's side last season, but his talents are rated by many and Paul Clement, among several European suitors, were eager to snap him up.
Sanches eventually chose Swansea because of Clement's influence, and the former Bayern assistant put his faith in the midfielder by slotting him in the starting XI against Newcastle.

Unfortunately for Sanches, his debut at the Liberty Stadium didn't exactly go to plan.
We appreciate that it will take some time for the 20-year-old to adapt to his Premier League surroundings, but the fact that he lost possession 14 times in the opening 28 minutes would have disappointed Europe's Golden Boy.
He produced glimmers of his potential throughout, and we have no doubt that Sanches will flourish in the coming weeks, but his eagerly anticipated debut was a tad disappointing.
