Kylian Mbappe's move from Monaco to PSG was anything but your ordinary transfer.

After his stunning season for Leonardo Jardim's title-winners, the 19-year old sensation had a slew of European giants desperate to acquire his services.

Football Manager wonderkids who flopped:

He would then join boyhood club PSG, initially on loan - the reason being so PSG could get around Financial Fair Play after splashing out a world-record £198 million fee to land Neymar from Barcelona.

A permanent deal costing £166 million was always in the pipeline, though there was a strange clause inserted in Mbappe's deal at the Parc des Princes.

Back in August, Le Parisien reported that there was a way, albeit near impossible, whereby Mbappe would not become a PSG player on a permanent basis.

Bizarrely, if PSG suffered relegation from the French top-flight, the mega move next summer would be off and the French international would return to the Stade Louis II.

Of course, that was never, ever going to happen and to the surprise of absolutely no-one, PSG are running riot in Ligue One, twelve points clear of last season's winners, and Mbappe's former employers, Monaco.

The 5-2 victory over Strasbourg took PSG another step closer to regaining the Ligue One title but it also means that they are mathematically safe from relegation - given they are 42 points above the drop with 12 games left.

With the top-flight status achieved, Mbappe's transfer to the Parisiens has officially been made permanent and he will sign a contract until 2022.

Since moving to the French capital, the 2017 Golden Boy has continued his meteoric rise - having scored 15 goals and laid on 14 assists for teammates in 32 games this season.

While it's big money for a teenager that PSG, the kid is different gravy and with the transfer market getting crazier and crazier every window, don't be surprised if it ends up being a bargain!
