Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne has beaten the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to be named the best footballer in the world right now.

The 28-year-old Belgian midfielder has been in scintillating form for his club this season, despite Liverpool's dominant Premier League title challenge.

De Bruyne, who is one of the favourites to win Premier League Player of the Season, has scored nine times and registered 20 assists before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus outbreak.

And fans over at Ranker have put the Belgium international at the top of the rankings, which were updated last month.

Juventus superstar Ronaldo finished third in the rankings, while fierce rival Messi shockingly finished 7th in the list.
