Chelsea will reportedly make an ambitious move for Robert Lewandowski after failing to land Erling Haaland.

The Blues saw their opening offer for Haaland rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

The 20-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with the Champions League holders interested in snapping up the phenom forward this summer.

But Dortmund refusing to sell their prized asset means Thomas Tuchel will target Lewandowski instead, according to stunning reports.

The Sun claim Chelsea will make a £50 million bid for the Bayern Munich star.

The Poland goal-machine is thought to be keen on one last adventure away from Germany before his storied career comes to an end.

Bayern want Lewandowski to sign an extension to his current deal, which expires in 2023.

But with Roman Abramovich's backing, Chelsea have the financial muscle to test the Bundesliga club's resolve.

Lewandowski turns 33 next month, with the report suggesting that even Bayern's head could be turned by a big offer considering his age.

He's enjoyed a glittering seven-year spell at the club as he scored an incredible 48 goals last season, including a record-breaking 41 goals in the Bundesliga campaign.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have sold Olivier Giroud to AC Milan, with Tammy Abraham also linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
