Having been frozen out of Jose Mourinho's first team and forced to train with the Under 23 squad, Bastian Schweinsteiger could finally have an escape route from Manchester United.

The former Germany captain, who has insisted that United will be the last club he plays for in Europe, could be made FC Dallas' next designated player, with club President Dan Hunt singing the 32-year-old's praises in a recent interview with SPOX.

"He is an incredible player. I always admired him and the success that his teams had. That is no coincidence, he is a winner."

With a current roster freeze implemented by MLS until the MLS Cup has finished, there are still one or two barriers preventing the transfer from happening at the moment, but the Texas club do still have a designated player space open and could be willing to make their move once they are eligible to sign players, again.

With another European club out of the question for the ex-Bayern man, Dallas may be Schweinsteiger's best option.
