Xavi has drawn up a 10-man wishlist for Barcelona ahead of the January transfer window and he's aiming quite high.

The Catalan giants sit eighth in La Liga and are in danger of being eliminated from the Champions League after a dismal start to the season.

New manager Xavi is aware standards have slipped at the Camp Nou and he's eager to bring in some fresh faces to rebuild.

Mundo Deportivo have reported two of the biggest names on his list are Manchester United duo Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard.

Both players are on the fringes at Old Trafford and between them have made just six appearances in the Premier League this campaign.

They're also out of contract in the summer and it means Barcelona would be able to negotiate as early as January.

In the case of Cavani however, an argument could be made to get him to Spain as soon as possible given the club's current injury crisis.

Sergio Aguero is out until 2022 due to an irregular heartbeat and Martin Braithwaite is also sidelined.

Ousmane Dembele continues to battle injuries and Luuk de Jong has already been omitted from Xavi's plans.

Two of Chelsea's attackers are linked in the form of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner with the Blues rich in attacking talent.

Raheem Sterling has long been admired by Barcelona and he's reportedly ready to leave Manchester City after six years at the Etihad.

He's seen his game time decrease this season following Jack Grealish's £100 million transfer and Gabriel Jesus' resurgence.

An interesting name from the Premier League mooted is Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil.

The 20-year-old arrived from Sevilla in the summer in a deal which saw Erik Lamela move the opposite way.

He's played 13 times but hasn't started a game in the league yet and Barca think a loan move is possible.

The final four players are all young talents dotted around the world and include RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo, Salzburg's teenager Karim Adeyemi, as well as River Plate and Basel pair Julian Alvarez and Arthur Cabral.

Olmo was in the La Masia system for seven years as a child and Adeyemi has lit up the Champions League.

Alvarez and Cabral are unknown to most fans but are young and have room to develop.
