When Sam Clucas Celebrated In Front Of Swansea City Fans After Scoring For Stoke

When Sam Clucas Celebrated In Front Of Swansea City Fans After Scoring For Stoke

By Mike Parrott

Sam Clucas scored for Stoke City against Swansea City, but he opted to celebrate in front of the Swansea fans earlier this season.

When players score against their old teams, the majority won't celebrate to upset the previous fans who used to adore them.

However, Sam Clucas wasn't having any of that.

After scoring Stoke's opening goal in the 55th minute, Clucas ran the length of the pitch to go and celebrate in front of the Swansea fans, channeling his inner Emmanuel Adebayor.

Clucas was deemed a flop at Swansea after signing from Hull City for a reported £15 Million. Clucas left only a year later for Stoke for over half the price.

When asked about the goal after the game, Clucas said:

"It's being in the heat of the game and hearing the fans give you stick. It's one of them where you've got to give it both ways.If you give it, then you've got to take it."

"That's how life works. They're giving me a bit of stick for missing in the first half, so if I score I'm, going to enjoy it a bit more...It's nothing personal and the most important thing for us is the three points."

The move drew comparisons to Adebayor who did the same in his career. The Togo strike had transferred from Arsenal to Manchester City after being labelled a flop at the North-London side.

Adebayor ran the whole length of the pitch to knee-slide and celebrate in front of the Arsenal fans.

At least it's better than the average non-celebration that most players do these days.
