Some fans on social media think Neymar looked 'surprised' when Gabriel Martinelli's name was called during Brazil's World Cup squad announcement.

On Monday afternoon, Brazil manager Tite confirmed his 26-man squad for this winter's tournament in Qatar.

Several players, including Manchester United forward Antony and in-form Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, filmed their reaction to the news and posted footage on their social media channels.

Even star player Neymar got involved in proceedings. The PSG forward waited patiently for his name to be called, but fans also got to witness him react to Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli's selection.

As you can see in the footage below, Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus was the first forward to be announced in Tite's 26-man squad.

And moments later, Martinelli's name was called. Twitter account @afcstuff wrote: "Brazil icon Neymar’s shocked reaction to Gabriel Martinelli being named in the Brazil World Cup squad this evening."

Another fan commented: "You can tell he was happy for Gabriel Jesus and surprised about Martinelli," while a third wrote: "Neymar was a bit surprised that Martinelli was called but he decided to hide the feelings knowing that he's on camera. And everyone in that room knew Neymar is going to Qatar."

A fourth said: "Neymar was happy when Gabriel Jesus was called and pleasantly surprised for Martinelli."

There was talk of Martinelli not making the squad prior to Tite's announcement. On Monday morning, Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade posted a 26-man Brazil squad without the 21-year-old forward.

Liverpool's Roberto Firmino, who was not included in the final squad, was named instead.

A host of Premier League names will join Martinelli on the plane to Qatar. Manchester United midfielder Casemiro will feature alongside Fabinho, Lucas Paqueta, Thiago Silva, Alisson and Richarlison.

Here is the 26-man squad in full:

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Liverpool), Ederson (Manchester City) and Weverton (Palmeiras)
