Neymar 'likes' social media posts that directly call out Kylian Mbappe, this could get nasty

Neymar 'likes' social media posts that directly call out Kylian Mbappe, this could get nasty

Paris Saint-Germain earned all three points against Montpellier but things don't look good between two of their biggest stars.

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar liked two 'anti-Kylian Mbappe posts' on social media following the club's 5-2 win against Montpellier on Saturday night.

It's important to give some context to this situation. Back in May, after months of speculation surrounding his future, Kylian Mbappe signed a new contract that made him arguably the most powerful figure at PSG.

The Frenchman is expected to earn €250 million over three years at the Parc des Princes but as well as that hefty wage, the Ligue 1 champions are also giving him a say in how the club is run.

According to reports, Mbappe will take a more prominent role in wider decision-making within the club, and that influence is already taking shape.

The recent hire of Luis Campos – someone he was close with during his time at AS Monaco – as sporting director was said to be Mbappe's choosing.

With all this in mind, one of the club's star player, Neymar, decided to 'like' a number of posts on Twitter about Mbappe after he missed a penalty during the club's victory over Montpellier.

The first post Neymar liked was from Twitter account Portal Brasil, who wrote: "Today, in the PSG game, Neymar scored and HUMILIATED the goalkeeper (once again) in the penalty kick. Mbappé, on the other hand, hit VERY badly and lost.

"After the game, the coach said that Mbappé will be the team's main hitter for the season. An absurdity."

You can see confirmation of Neymar's 'like' below.

As mentioned in the above post, PSG were handed another penalty in the 43rd minute and after a chat with Kylian Mbappe, the Brazilian stood up and converted from the spot.

Neymar wasn't done there. The second post he liked came from Twitter account @Neymargiabr, who wrote: "Now it's official, Mbappe is the one who takes the penalties at PSG.

"Clearly this is a contract thing, because in no club in the world that has Neymar, he would be the second collector, none!! It seems that because of the contract, Mbappe is the owner of PSG!!"

As you can see below, former Barcelona forward Neymar gave the hosts a 2-0 lead against Olivier Dall'Oglio's side with this cool finish from 12 yards. He then made scored his second with 51 minutes on the clock to rack his tally up to five goals for the season.

In a seperate incident during the game on Saturday, Kylian Mbappe appeared to stop running during a counter attack.

As you can see in the footage below, PSG midfielder Vitinha brings the ball out from the back and has the option of passing to Mbappe on the left or Lionel Messi on the right.

Vitinha opts to give the ball to Messi and Mbappe throws his hands in the air before slowing down.

After the full-time whistle, Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier played down the incident.

"Kylian played his last game three weeks ago so I knew it was going to be tough on a physical level for him," he told Canal Plus.

"He's a competitor. He wants to be good and he wants to be good quickly, but a top footballer is not on and off like that; it takes a little time to regain 100 per cent of his athletic abilities.

"When he's at 100 per cent, he'll make the difference even more. These are players who like to score, who want to score, who attack. It's a bit normal for him to be disappointed at being a little short physically compared to his teammates."
