Neymar Takes Charge Of Medal Ceremony After Helping Paris Saint Germain Win The Champions Trophy

Paris Saint Germain are off and running under new boss Christophe Galtier.

Neymar took charge of the medal ceremony after putting in a stellar performance to help Paris Saint Germain win the Trophee des Champions on Sunday.

The Trophee des Champions is the French equivalent of the FA Community Shield. PSG were up against Nantes, who won the Coupe de France last season whilst PSG won the Ligue 1 title.

In true Neymar fashion he stole the show even after the match. During the trophy presentation, the medals are usually handed out by an official, but Neymar decided to hand out medals to his teammates himself. You can watch the brilliant footage below.

Neymar and his teammates were on top of their game as they inspired their team to a convincing 4-0 victory. The match was also new manager Christophe Galtier’s first competitive game in charge of the Parc des Princes club.

Argentine super star Lionel Messi opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, Neymar then executed a beautiful free kick on the stroke of half time to make it 2-0 to the Parisians at the break.

Former Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos made it 3-0 in the 57th minute before Neymar rounded off the scoring with a cooly dispatched penalty in the 82nd minute.

Neymar produced a stunning display, apart from his two goals, he made Messi’s opener after playing the pass for the Argentine to score. The Brazilian caused havoc for the Nantes defenders throughout the match.

Ever since his £198 million move from Barcelona to Paris, Neymar has been under intense scrutiny and is often the subject of criticism.

The 30-year-old was even booed by his own fans last season after PSG suffered an embarrassing defeat against Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League

There were rumours during the summer transfer window that Neymar could be moved on, but it is believed that the player wants to stay in Paris as his dream is to win the Champions League with PSG

The French giants will hope this season will finally be the year that the club can get their hands on the elusive Champions League trophy.

PSG will begin their defence of the Ligue 1 title on August 6 against Clermont Foot.
