It has been revealed that Nike could risk embarrassing France ahead of the World Cup final against Argentina with an error on their website.

Nike have risked embarrassing France with an error on their website ahead of their World Cup final with Argentina.

France are gearing up to become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to win back-to-back World Cups - a feat only achieved twice in the competition's history.

The reigning champions overcame history-makers Morocco with a tight 2-0 victory, whilst Argentina were inspired by Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez during their 3-0 victory over Croatia in the other semi-final.

Argentina and France are both gunning for a third World Cup triumph, but according to Nike, France are the clear favourites.

Nike made a big mistake on Friday after putting a commemorative 'three-star' France shirt on sale ahead of Sunday's World Cup final.

A screenshot of the company's French webstore shows that a commemorative 'three-star' shirt was available for purchase on Friday, with the three stars referring to a trio of WC triumphs.

Whilst the screenshots of the kits show only two stars, the product description reads: "FFF [French Football Federation] three stars 2022/23 stadium residence."

Perhaps it could be a source of extra motivation, with the clothing company clearly favouring a win for the French.

France have only faced off against one team ranked in the top 20 teams in the world during the knockout stages, with a large majority of their team being present in the 4-2 win over Croatia in the 2018 final.

Their experience and star power in Kylian Mbappe make them one of the strongest teams at international level, and back-to-back tournament wins would elevate this team and it's players into the history books.

But Argentina are obsessed with bringing the trophy back to South America, and have recovered brilliantly from their shock opening game defeat to Saudi Arabia (how long ago does that feel now?)

If Messi wins, then the 'greatest of all time debate' will surely be laid to rest - if it isn't already - as Messi could recapture the magic that the great Diego Maradona once did for his country.

It's Messi vs Mbappe, France vs Argentina, and, most importantly, Nike vs Adidas.
