Nike Have Officially Ended Their Partnership With Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike Athlete, the sportswear giant have confirmed.

Nike have officially ended their partnership with Mason Greenwood after he was arrested on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman.

The Manchester United forward was taken into custody for questioning last week after a woman alleged that she had been assaulted on Instagram.

He was then further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill before being released on bail on Wednesday.

Greenwood was suspended by United, while boot sponsor Nike also announced made the same decision in response to the serious allegations.

In a statement, they said: "We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation."

However, the American sportswear giant have now confirmed they have severed all ties with the England international.

A Nike spokesperson told The Athletic: "Mason Greenwood is no longer a Nike athlete,"


Greenwood is not available for selection, nor is he partaking in training or appearing at the club's AON training complex.

The 20-year-old's merchandise has been removed from the official United website and the Red Devils have informed fans who purchased his shirt they can exchange free of charge.

An email read: "As a United Direct customer we are writing to you regarding your previous purchase of a Manchester United shirt personalised with Greenwood, given the current circumstances relating to Mason Greenwood.

"We can confirm that United Direct and adidas customers who purchased a Manchester United shirt that was personalised with Greenwood's name and number, have the opportunity to exchange it for this season's home shirt personalised with another player's name without charge."

Greenwood has also been removed from FIFA 22 and Konami's eFootball, of which United are an official partner of.
