OGC's Nice current squad is straight out of FIFA Career Mode

OGC's Nice current squad is straight out of FIFA Career Mode

OGC Nice have assembled the most FIFA career mode squad of all time.

There is nothing better in football than when things began to resemble a FIFA career mode or Football Manager save and Nice's current squad is doing exactly that.

The Ligue One side, owned by billionaire and Ineos head honcho Sir Jim Ratcliffe, were incredibly active in the transfer market in the summer.

It wasn't quite Nottingham Forest's crazy 21-signing spree, but Nice did sign a total of 13 players - including loans and free transfers.

They raided Ligue One rivals Monaco and Stade Rennais in bringing in Sofiane Diop and Gaetan Laborde, their two biggest purchases.

Following that, Mattia Viti and Alexis Beka Beka were signed from Empoli and Lokomotiv Moscow respectively.

But a good chunk of Nice's business has been incredibly random. Nicolas Pepe arrived on loan from Arsenal, while free transfers Aaron Ramsey and Ross Barkley - unveiled at half-time of the 1-0 loss to Monaco would make a dream midfield back in 2013.

Kasper Schmeichel made a surprise departure from Leicester to join Nice as their number one and then there's the additions of Joe Bryan and Mads Bech Sorensen, who signed on loan from Fulham and Brentford respectively.

Throw in existing players like Mario Lemina, Morgan Schneiderlin and 38-year-old Dante and you can't help but feel that Nice are taking a very FIFA-like approach.

Marseille are giving Nice a run for their money, though, after Alexis Sanchez, Eric Bailly, Chancel Mbemba, Nuno Tavares, Matteo Guendouzi and Jordan Veretout all joined in the same window.

While Marseille are second to PSG on 16 points, Nice need their new recruits to get it together quickly, however, having had a dismal start to the campaign.

Lucien Favre's side are lurched in 16th, with just one win from their first six games.
