Paul Pogba Documentary Shows Him And Mino Raiola Turning Down 'Nothing' £300,000-A-Week Offer

Paul Pogba turned down huge £300-a-week deal from Manchester United, and called the offer 'nothing,' whilst inside his Rolls Royce in Miami.

Pogba left Old Trafford at the end of the season, after six seasons back in the Premier League that occasionally promised much but more often than not under delivered.

It's the second time the Frenchman has been allowed to leave the club for free, having done exactly the same in 2012, under Sir Alex Ferguson.

On both occasions the club have tried to keep him but he has decided to walk away, with Juventus once again expected to be his destination, as it was 10 years ago.

The 29-year-old is expected to announce his decision to move back to the Old Lady on Friday, the same day the 'Pogumentary' is released.

A preview of the film, seen by the Athletic, reveals that he turned down a deal from United worth more than his previous £290,000-a-week deal, calling it nothing whilst on the phone to his then agent Mino Raiola.

"Paul, you are in a situation which is very particular. You have no idea. You have no idea," the agent tells his client on the phone last July.

"Did Manchester [United] make a second offer?" the midfielder queries.

"Yes. They absolutely want you to stay. For me, the offer doesn’t reflect that. I told them, ‘If you want him to stay, don’t make that offer’. I will make them understand that if they really want you to stay and they want to build a project around you, this time they have to act differently and put the money on the table," Raiola then says.

"They’re bluffing," Pogba replies, "How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that."

Raiola claiming that United needed to show they should build a team around the World Cup winner might be met with snorts of derision from the team's fans.

The Frenchman spent parts of last season injured, as he had done the year before, and never really lived up to his billing as one of the world's best midfielders.

His failings may have been summed up best several years ago by Fergie, who, years ago when Pogba was at the club the first time, told a player, "You see this player, he will be extraordinary, full of talent. He will be at the top. But he's a dreamer and if nobody is there to show him his way, he'll never make it."

Pogba may never have ended up with that person to show him the way at Old Trafford.
