Fantasy Football users worried by Pep Guardiola's comments about Erling Haaland following Manchester derby

"He will take a break. There will be games he is not going to play."

Pep Guardiola's comments about Erling Haaland after his hat-trick heroics in the Manchester derby has raised concerns amongst the Fantasy Football community.

When it comes to team selections, the Spaniard certainly has a tendency to chop and change on a weekly basis, leaving players in limbo as to whether they should select certain players.

He continues to cause FPL players all sorts of headaches with his decisions and on Sunday afternoon, he dropped a bombshell. The prolific Haaland will "take a break" in the coming weeks.

Haaland, who is the most popular player in Fantasy Football history, is owned by an unprecedented 8,548,463 managers.

In fact, a record breaking 5.6 million users handed the Norwegian the captain's armband ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United.

He has delivered crucial points for millions around the world of late and Sunday was no different.

After bagging a hat-trick and two assists against Erik ten Hag's men, he handed players a hefty 20 points, with another three bonus likely in the coming hours.

If you decided to captain Haaland, then you'll pick up over 40 points. If you triple captained Haaland – like 40,000 managers did on Sunday – then you're definitely cruising up the table.

In terms of this weekend's fixtures, maximum bonus points would give Haaland 23 points overall, which is the highest total in a Gameweek this season, beating the 22 of Roberto Firmino (£7.9m) in Gameweek 4.

But in the aftermath of City's emphatic 6-3 win against local rivals United this weekend, Pep Guardiola made an admission that COULD spell the end of Haaland's run of form.

"He will take a break," Guardiola said. "There will be games he is not going to play. We are lucky, last season he could not play many games in a row - here we have incredible physios and thanks to them, he can play every 90 minutes."

At the start of September, Haaland made Fantasy Premier League history by becoming the most captained player ever for a single gameweek.

An impressive 5,398,620 FPL users captained the Norwegian; an amount that smashed Mohamed Salah's previous record of 5,139,561 in Gameweek 17 of last season.
