Pep Guardiola's friend forced to delete celebratory picture after Real Madrid fans rage

Pep Guardiola's friend forced to delete celebratory picture after Real Madrid fans rage

Guardiola and his mates were revelling in Manchester City's battering of Real in the Champions League but fans weren't happy.

Pep Guardiola had a photo of him and his mates celebrating Manchester City's Champions League progress quickly deleted, as Real Madrid fans fumed.

On Wednesday night City put in one of the most complete performances in a Champions League semi-final that you're likely to see.

They absolutely destroyed defending champions Real in a way that few have managed before with Guardiola's tactical masterclass rendering the Spanish giants completely unable to do anything.

It leaves them just three wins away from equalling Manchester United's achievement of winning the Treble, involving the Premier League, FA Cup and being crowned European champions.

It wasn't all plain sailing for Guardiola on the night as he ended up having an argument with Kevin De Bruyne during the game, with the Belgian nowhere near his best.

However, the former Barcelona boss will be putting that to the back of his mind as he attempts to finally be crowned the best in Europe for the first time since 2011.

He's only been to the final once since leaving the Nou Camp so it's no wonder he was in a celebratory mood after the full time whistle.

The 52-year-old's friend Manuel Estiarte, who is also a member of the technical staff, posted a picture of the pair along with Pere Guardiola, City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and former Argentina president Mauricio Macri putting up four fingers.

They were obviously referencing the 4-0 win at the Etihad Stadium but Estiarte soon deleted the picture off his social media after plenty of negative reaction.

"'I hope they lose the final so they keep those four fingers where they can best," one fan replied.

A second simply said, "Vamos Inter," in reference to their opponents in the final in Istanbul on June 10th.

Another bitter Real supporter was quick to point out how many times his team had been crowned European champions, adding, "If they put a one before it they will be able to understand the greatness of Real, 14 times champions."

Talking about the City boss being a Barca legend, another Real fan questioned, "What did you expect? It is one more cule. That's how mediocre they are.

"We beat Barca 4-0 in the cup and Real Madrid did nothing. That's the difference between being a serious club and them."

Holding up the fingers is of particular annoyance to Los Blancos fans as troll-in-chief Gerard Pique did that to them when they lost 5-0 in the Clasico back in 2010.
