Phil Foden's Mum Hit During Fight In Backstage Of Kell Brook Vs Amir Khan

Phil Foden's Mum Hit During Fight In Backstage Of Kell Brook Vs Amir Khan

The Manchester City star's mum and entourage were involved in a fight after some fans abused the midfielder and then hit his mum.

Phil Foden's entourage were involved in a fight backstage of Kell Brook vs Amir Khan, after his mum was disgustingly hit by fan who abused the Manchester City star.

Everyone was extremely excited by Brook and Khan finally meeting in the ring, after years of animosity between the pair, bringing out fans from everywhere, including some famous faces.

Noel Gallagher, Edinson Cavani and Foden were amongst those in attendance at the AO Arena, to see Brook roll back the years with a brilliantly dominant display over six rounds.

Whilst he no doubt enjoyed the entertaining fight, Foden and his entourage were later caught up in ugly scenes, after the City star was verbally abused.

A video of the incident went viral, in which a fan could be heard calling the England midfielder a 'c**t' as he is hastily scurried into a room with his girlfriend and family.

The player's mother then appears from the room to confront the men, asking 'who's calling him,' after an exchange she pushes one of them, who in turn takes a swing at her, as all hell breaks loose.

Foden's mother, Claire, then slaps two men, one of them being the man who attacked her, with neither man striking back at her this time.

Several other members of the City player's entourage then get involved, with the player and his girlfriend Rebecca Cooke on the periphery of the incident.

One of the 21-year-old's group is seen taking a fire extinguisher from the wall and using it to attack the men, hitting one blonde man on the back of the head.

After attempting two further attacks with the implement, the video is ended amongst much shouting.

Foden can be seen early in the melee trying to protect his mum but isn't involved in the fight any longer, and isn't seen to throw any sort of punch.

A statement from the club read, "The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused.

"We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family members.

"We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need."

It had not been a good day for the City star already, as he had played all 90 minutes of the team's surprising 3-2 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry Kane's late winner, after Riyad Mahrez looked to have secured a point for Pep Guardiola's team earlier in injury time, threw the Premier League title race back open in a big way.

City now only lead Liverpool by six points, with Jurgen Klopp's team having a game in hand, and the two sides still to meet in April.
