"Show some f*cking respect" - Phil Neville swears at reporter during heated exchange

Inter Miami manager Phil Neville had some choice words for one reporter following his side's defeat to Orlando City.

Inter Miami were beaten 3-1 in the MLS on Sunday, as they dropped to 12th place in the Eastern Conference.

The former Manchester United and Everton defender lost his cool during his post-match press conference, after a reporter interrupted his answer to a previous question.

A visibly frustrated Neville lashed out at the reporter, demanding he showed some respect.

"Can I finish speaking, or are you going to interrupt?", Neville exclaimed.

"Because I don't interrupt your question, so don't interrupt mine. Show some f*cking respect.”

The 46-year-old soon regained his composure, apologising for his outburst.

"Sorry for the language," he added.

In the heat of the moment, Neville appeared to lose his train of thought, asking for the question to be repeated.

Neville took over as manager of Inter Miami in 2021, three years after the club was established by co-owner David Beckham.

However, the club have struggled for form this season, and are some 15 points behind league leaders Cincinnati after 13 games.

Neville is due to face Wayne Rooney's DC United next month, when the two former Red Devils's stars will lock horns in the MLS.

Last season, Inter Miami underwent a major overhaul following a poor run of form, with 10 players released and 15 arrivals coming in, including Gonzalo Higuain.

The Argentinian has since announced his retirement from football during an emotional press conference.

Speaking last season, Neville said at the MLS launch event: “We are committed, we don’t do half measures. I want longevity in this role. I think there’s nothing better than a manager in place for a long time. That’s what longevity means and I think that breeds success."

“I want to be successful and I want to repay the faith that David and (co-owner) Jose (Mas) have put in me. We had to send a strong statement because the first two years for this franchise weren’t good enough, weren’t acceptable from the top down to the very bottom.

“So we had to make major changes to get what we wanted. I think last season taught me an awful lot and probably the thing I learned the most was this league is the hardest thing in the world to win.”
