Piers Morgan has attempted to ignite a potential rivalry between Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo after telling the Englishman to stop his ‘jealous b***ing’.
Morgan, who has a history of voicing his opinion on everything despite no one asking for it, has backed his beloved friend Ronaldo after Rooney claimed the Red Devils' number seven should be dropped.
Manchester United have had a nightmare start to the new Premier League season and currently find themselves sitting bottom of the table.

Rooney, a man who is worshipped at Old Trafford, enjoyed a legendary partnership with his then-teammate Ronaldo while under Sir Alex Ferguson's leadership.
However, the England and Manchester United's all-time leading goalscorer penned a column for the Times where he explained that in order for Erik Ten Hag to get the most out of his team he must drop Ronaldo first.
His comments weren’t overly critical, touching on some fair points about how the former Real Madrid star has openly discussed his desire to leave the club

However, one man took massive offence to the remarks – and funnily enough, it wasn’t Ronaldo.
Piers Morgan took to Twitter to defend the forward and even threw a few jabs at Rooney himself.
He tweeted: “Rooney has a managerial win record of 28% and his DC United team lost 6-0 yesterday. So I suggest he pipes down with the management advice and endless jealous b*tching about @cristiano whose talent, success & fitness levels all dwarf Rooney’s.”
Not unlike Piers to be left raging by something that has nothing to do with him.

To be fair, his defence of Ronaldo shouldn’t really come as a surprise with the talk show host always keen to flaunt some sort of relationship he has with the striker.
A tweet pinned to the top of his Twitter account shows an interview between the two where Ronaldo compliments Piers’ ‘abdominals’.
Yes, it is a bit of an odd exchange.
However, Rooney didn’t just take aim at Ronaldo in his column, also pinning some of the blame on another Englishman.

He said: “I wouldn’t play Cristiano Ronaldo, and I wouldn’t play Marcus Rashford.
"If I was in Ten Hag’s position my main concern would be getting energy on the pitch, and United’s failure to recruit a No.9 means they relied on Ronaldo against Brentford, even though he hadn’t trained a lot with the team. He looked like he needs time to get match fit.
"He has also let it be known that he wants to leave the club.
"I don’t know his reasons but, as I wrote in my last column, I’d let him — he’s a great player and will always score goals but the task for Ten Hag is to produce a team that can compete for the title in three or four years’ time. That means rebuilding with younger players."

United’s latest signing certainly doesn’t fit that ‘younger players’ mantra, however, could be key if they are to challenge for a Champions League position this season.
The Red Devils announced they had agreed to terms to sign 30-year-old defensive midfielder Casemiro from Real Madrid for $120 million (£70m).
Perhaps Ronaldo will be more inclined to stay at the club with one of his previous Champions League-winning teammates joining the squad.
