Arsenal would have lifted their first league title since 2004 if they snapped up Cristiano Ronaldo when he left Manchester United, according to Piers Morgan.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner left Old Trafford by mutual consent in November following an explosive interview with Morgan, who has often voiced his support for the 38-year-old.
Then, after much speculation surrounding his future, Ronaldo decided to sign a record-breaking, two-and-a-half year contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr believed to be worth £175 million-a-year.

He has since scored 12 goals in 13 league games for the club.
A number of clubs were linked with Ronaldo's signature after his United departure, including the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Roma.
He ended up joining the Saudi Pro League, but Piers Morgan believes Arsenal missed a trick by not pursuing a move for the experienced forward.

In fact, he believes Ronaldo's goalscoring capabilities, as well as his leadership qualities, would have helped the Gunners secure a historic league title.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday morning, Morgan said: "Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season - as he was keen to do btw - we would have won the League.
"He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters."
At one stage, Arsenal looked to be in the driving seat. In fact, on January 18, Mikel Arteta's side had an eight point lead over Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

But with two games remaining, the Gunners are currently four points behind league leaders City, who also have a game in hand.
Back in January, Piers Morgan said Ronaldo would have considered a move to Celtic or Rangers.
“Ronaldo would have gone anywhere that had Champions League football," the TalkTV host told talkSPORT after being asked whether Ronaldo would have moved to the Scottish Premiership.

"I know for a fact because he repeatedly told me what he really wanted to do was extend his Champions League career.
"He has most of the records in the Champions League and he wants to extend them, probably so that Messi can’t catch him and that he ends up as the GOAT of Champions League football.
“That was his motivating factor."

Morgan added: "I do believe that he’s driven more by records and legacy than he is by money. He’s already got half a billion pounds so it’s not like he needs a few quid in Saudi Arabia.
"He just happens to be getting a stupendous payday to build football there from a very good platform of beating the World Champions (Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina in their opening game of the 2022 World Cup).
"So things did change a lot in the last few months in terms of the narrative of football in the Middle East. It was a tremendous World Cup for the region generally, so it looks a little less crazy than it would have done six months ago when Saudi were a complete irrelevance in football."
