Burnley forward Wout Weghorst was booed by his own supporters during their pre-season clash against Belgian side Genk.
The 30-year-old Dutch international, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Manchester United, has returned to Turf Moor as Vincent Kompany's side prepare to make their highly-anticipated Premier League return.
He reported back for training early last week and several days later, he featured in a comfortable 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday – a victory that extended their pre-season record to four wins in four.

Weghorst's future remains uncertain as rumours over a possible move to Everton continue to swirl, but he continues to feature in the claret and blue, with his latest appearance coming against Belgian Pro League outfit Genk.
After the hosts took an early lead through Yira Sor, the former AZ Alkmaar and Wolfsburg striker was introduced as a substitute in the 79th minute as Burnley tried to find an equaliser.
But the experienced striker was booed on his arrival, according to Burnley fan @OfficialVizeh, who also claims "w****r" chants were directed at Weghorst before his every touched was jeered.

Burnley fan channel No Nay Never also commented on the Weghorst boo's during their post-match analysis of the game.
Tom Whittaker, who is an analyst on the YouTube channel, said: "Weghorst came on and there was booing and some derogatory chants in the away end. But there was also some applause and people trying to drown out the boos.
"It was a mixed reception. I think from what we've seen online, there's a lot of mixed opinions."

As mentioned by Whittaker, the reception Weghorst received from sections of the Cegeka Arena was a talking point online, with many fans having their say.

One fan wrote: "Those booing Weghorst are embarrassing. Not a good look for new players and players who want to join the club seeing the fans boo our own players," while another commented: "Why boo Weghorst? Embarrassing."
A third said: "Just heard we boo’d Weghorst when he came on. What an embarrassing group of fans we have at times. Definitely just a minority but Jesus Christ. He left because he wanted to play at the World Cup. Let him prove himself before passing judgement."
A fourth added: "Can’t wrap my head around how people say Weghorst “jumped ship”? Left on loan for a season to make the WC and did an interview for the fans, unlike our other players who ran to rival prem clubs without reasoning but i guarentee they won’t be flooded with boos."
