New PSG Sporting Director Luis Campos 'visits several nightclubs' and bans players from nights out

Luis Campos travelled to Paris nightclubs to "understand the establishments" players go to in their spare time.

New Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos has banned players from going on nights out in the French capital.

Campos took up the position in the summer, having previously worked for both Monaco and Lille in Ligue One.

And though a key part of his role involves recruitment, Campos is playing disciplinarian in an attempt to finally bring the Champions League to the Parc des Princes.

According to L'Equipe, via MARCA, he has personally visited nightclubs in the city and wants to be informed if players are spotted in the venues.

New manager Christophe Galtier is in favour of the strict ruling, which has been made in the hope of limiting off-field issues at the club.

As of yet, no player has questioned the ban. On his no-nonsense approach, Campos said: "If there are some who don't agree, they are free to leave,"

The prohibition on night out isn't the only heavy measure being taken under the new regime.

Phones are not permitted while players have breakfast and lunch in a bid to bring the squad closer together and bring about more unity.

All players must eat their meals together at the club's Camp des Loges campus to avoid any cliques emerging.

PSG players have been told they must show up for training between 8:30 and 8:45 and if they are late without a valid and reasonable explanation, they will be sent home.

"If there are players who leave the framework, they will be allowed to leave," Galtier has said.

"No player will be above the group."

Galtier, 55, led Lille to the Ligue One title ahead of PSG in 2020/21 and also took charge of Nice last season before replacing Mauricio Pochettino at PSG.

He has already lifted his trophy at the club after they blitzed Nantes 4-0 in the Trophee des Champions fixture.

They are overwhelming favourites for the league again but are desperate to lift the Champions League after being beaten in the round of 16 by eventual winners Real Madrid last term.
