What a time to be alive.

American actor Will Ferrell has been spotted at Fratton Park this afternoon, watching Portsmouth's League One opener against Tranmere Rovers.

The 52-year-old, famous for films such as Anchorman and Step Brothers, was invited to the game as a guest of chairman Michael Eisner.

He watched the first half of Pompey's tie in the directors' box.

Well this might be the most random but brilliant thing, ever.

The club soon posted a snap of Ferrell in the stands as he watched midfielder Ben Close open the scoring for Portsmouth in the 27th minute.

"Just in case you didn't believe us. Great to have Will Ferrell with us at Fratton Park today!" they said on Twitter.

Back in May this year, Ferrell declared himself a Portsmouth fan when he tuned into the club's 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley on the final day of the League One season.

Of course his best friend, Michael Eisner, is the chairman of the League One side, who narrowly missed out on promotion last season.

Breck Eisner, who is the son of Michael, posted a selfie on his way to the ground earlier.

The fact that Will Ferrell, one of the most famous actors in the world, is watching League One football is keeping us going on this rainy, Saturday afternoon.
