The Super Sixes tournament is officially under way, and the opening day produced a memorable moment as Barcelona legend Carles Puyol absolutely destroyed Phil Neville with a brutal tackle.

England played Spain with both sides littered with legendary names. From Steven Gerrard and Rio Ferdinand to Gaizka Mendieta and Fernando Morientes

Not to mention Neville. And the former Manchester United and Everton player was on the receiving end of a horrific tackle from Puyol.

A day removed from the tackle, Puyol has offered an apology on social media but no one is buying it.
