Real Madrid Agree Deal To Sign Aurelien Tchouameni From Monaco

Madrid have agreed a deal worth more than €100m for the France international.

Real Madrid have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Monaco to sign highly-rated France international Aurelien Tchouameni.

According to The Athletic, Madrid have agreed to sign Tchouameni in a deal worth more than €100m (£85.3m).

The two clubs are now finalising the paperwork ahead of the deal being officially announced.

Tchouameni, 22, had also been linked with Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Manchester United after an impressive season for Monaco, in which he scored five goals in 50 appearances in all competitions.

He was a key figure for his club side this season, helping them qualify for the Champions League with a third-place finish in Ligue 1.

The former Bordeaux midfielder made his senior debut for France in September and has since amassed 10 caps for the national side, featuring in both of their Nations League games against Denmark and Croatia this month.

According to respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid will confirm the signing of Tchouameni once they have announced a new one-year deal for midfielder Luka Modric on Wednesday.

The 36-year-old has agreed to extend his stay at the Bernabeu for another season after helping Madrid win both the Champions League and La Liga title this season.

"Before announcing Tchouameni, Real Madrid will confirm the new contract until June 2023 for Luka Modric: it's scheduled for tomorrow at Bernabeu, Florentino Perez will be there too," tweeted Romano.

"New deal was signed after UCL Final. Negotiations were 'more than fast'."

Tchouameni began his career with Bordeaux before moving to Monaco in the January transfer window of 2020.

He has since gone on to make 95 appearances for Monaco in his two-and-a-half seasons at the club.
