Borussia Dortmund issue Jude Bellingham update after Real Madrid 'hint'

Borussia Dortmund issue Jude Bellingham update after Real Madrid 'hint'

The saga continues.

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has provided an update on Jude Bellingham's future following speculation that he will join Real Madrid this January.

The 19-year-old superstar looked to have fueled transfer rumours after he signed a Real Madrid shirt after training.

Bellingham has been widely reported with a move away from the Bundesliga, with an array of clubs eyeing up a move for the England international, including Liverpool.

Real Madrid are among those linked to the midfielder, with many fans now adamant that Bellingham will sign for Carlo Ancelotti's team.

Bellingham was signing autographs and when presented with the all-white jersey, he kindly obliged.

Other players may have avoided signing shirts from other clubs, but the World Cup star felt quite happy to note down his signature for a young fan.

However, Bellingham, who has scored three goals in the league this season, is yet to make any indication of a move away from his current club.

It's not the first time the player has had to engage with Real Madrid supporters.

Whilst representing his country in Qatar, Bellingham was told to join the Spanish giants by a fan in a video which went viral.

At first the supporter told Bellingham he was the best midfielder in the world, before adding, "Come to Real Madrid, come to Real Madrid."

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was sat next to Bellingham and quickly jumped in, replying, "not Madrid."

Kehl: We would be 'stupid' to sell him

Bellingham's Real Madrid shirt signing has started a storm of speculation on social media which has now been addressed by Dortmund's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl.

In a recent interview he maintained his desire for the midfielder to stay in Germany, whilst insisting that no offers had been made for the teenager.

Speaking to Kicker, Kehl said: "Jude has made an incredible development here. With the way he plays football, his fighting spirit and his commitment, he has become a real Borussia player who identifies very much with BVB.

"I can't say today if and when that will be the case with Jude, and from a purely sporting point of view I would be stupid to want to give up Jude Bellingham. We'll talk to him and his parents in due course. There is currently no pressure. Jude wants to concentrate fully on football. And by the way, there are no offers at all."
