Real Madrid 'Do Jurgen Klopp's Team Talk For Him' With Shirt Message After Manchester City Comeback

Real Madrid 'Do Jurgen Klopp's Team Talk For Him' With Shirt Message After Manchester City Comeback

Is this tempting fate?

Real Madrid may have motivated Liverpool ahead of their Champions League final after wearing shirts with a message on the back.

Madrid completed a sensational comeback against Manchester City in their semi-final showdown on Wednesday evening, winning the game 3-1 on the night and 6-5 on aggregate.

Rodrygo scored twice late on to take the game to extra time before Karim Benzema's penalty booked Los Blancos' place in Paris.

Wild celebrations inside the Santiago Bernabeu followed and every Madrid player was handed a shirt with 'A por la 14' printed on the back.

That translates to 'Go for the 14', in reference to how many times Madrid have won the European Cup.

Madrid's last Champions League triumph came against Liverpool in 2018 when they won 3-1 thanks to a Gareth Bale double.

Their first meeting in a European final came all the way back in 1981, which Liverpool won after a late Alan Kennedy strike.

It'll be Liverpool's third Champions League final appearance in five years and they're still on for a historic quadruple.

They're one point behind City in the Premier League with four games to go, but have already won the Carabao Cup and are in the FA Cup final.

Madrid, meanwhile, wrapped up La Liga last weekend with a 4-0 win over Espanyol.

Carlo Ancelotti came up against Jurgen Klopp's side while Everton manager last season and he actually managed to beat them at Anfield.

Reds forward Mohamed Salah admitted he wanted Madrid in the final after his side's win over Villarreal on Tuesday and there's a feeling of unfinished business there.

Salah was substituted in the 2018 final after a collision with Sergio Ramos.

Ancelotti was told about Salah's wish in his post-match interview and responded in typically smooth fashion.

The 62-year-old said: "I'm happy to play yet another final. We'll have to face another great team, Liverpool. In my personal history, I've squared off against Liverpool a bunch of times.

"In 1984 as a player, in 2007 [and other times, including Liverpool's famous victory against AC Milan in 2005] and now again we'll be playing against Liverpool. I lived in Liverpool for two years, as well. To me, this feels like a derby because I'm still an Evertonian."
