Real Madrid Top The All Time Champions League Points Table

Real Madrid Top The All Time Champions League Points Table

The Spanish giants are far and away the most successful team in the Champions League history, no matter what way you look at it.

Real Madrid are by far and away the best team to have ever competed in the Champions League, as the all time points table proves.

Carlo Ancelotti has the chance on Saturday night to become the greatest manager in the competition's history, as he has the chance to add a fourth such title to his medal collection.

It would also be Real's 14th title, should they manage to overcome the odds and beat Liverpool in the Stade de France, and mean they'd won the title twice more than any other team.

However, even without a win against Jurgen Klopp's side, there's no doubt that they're the dominant team in the competition's illustrious history.

A table of all the teams that have competed, that awards three points for a win, even in knockout games, and one for a draw, proves how much better they are when it comes to continental football

Los Blancos have 901 points from their 461 games, as per Transfermarkt, and the closest team to them are still a whopping 179 points behind.

There really is no team so closely connected with a competition, especially a cup competition at heart, as Real are with the Champions League.

The Spanish champions won the first five editions of the European Cup, from 1956 to 1960, and are also the only team to have won it three times in-a-row in the modern era.

Ancelotti led them to La Decima 2014, their famous 10th title that came after 12 years of trying to reach double figures, but it was Zinedine Zidane who led them to their most recent three triumphs.

Their previous win came in 2018 against Liverpool, with Mohamed Salah famously coming off injured before Loris Karius' second half disaster class.

The current La Liga champions are so desperate to get their hands on their latest European title, that one player even admitted he'd give up his wife for it, although not his son.

Some believe that fate is shining on them considering their ridiculous run to the final, that saw them come from behind to beat PSG, Chelsea and Manchester City on the way to playing Liverpool.

However, it's more likely to be Karim Benzema or Salah who decide the final, rather than fate, with the two forwards the stand out players.

Speaking exclusively to SPORTbible, Steve McManaman, who played for both teams in his career, believes that one of them, or Sadio Mane, will win the Ballon d'Or, and it all comes down to Saturday night's winner.
