Robert Lewandowski 'Says Yes To Barcelona Move As Bayern Munich Contract Talks Stall'

Robert Lewandowski 'Says Yes To Barcelona Move As Bayern Munich Contract Talks Stall'

Lewandowski is under contract with Bayern until 2023.

Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski is reportedly keen to move to Barcelona this summer.

Spanish publication Sport claim Lewandowski has already informed Barcelona he wants to move to the Nou Camp and the Catalan club are now considering making an official approach for the 33-year-old striker.

Lewandowski has scored an incredible 339 goals in 366 games for Bayern and is under contract with the Bundesliga leaders until 2023.

However, his relationship with the club is said to have ‘deteriorated’ during recent contract talks.

Sport claim Bayern are only willing to offer Lewandowski a one-year contract extension, with the striker now setting his sights on a move to Spanish football instead.

Barcelona are in the market for another forward and have been strongly linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

But a deal for Haaland could prove to be too expensive, with Real Madrid and Manchester City also in contention to sign the Norway international.

Barcelona are said to have begun work on a deal for Lewandowski and will step up their efforts if a move for Haaland becomes impossible.

Poland international Lewandowski reportedly wants a three or four-year deal at the Nou Camp.

The report also claims Bayern could ask for as much as 65m (£55m) for the striker, who was runner-up to former Barcelona star Lionel Messi for the 2021 Ballon d’Or award.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany last month, Lewandowski hinted he would be willing to leave Bayern this summer.

“I am open to everything,” he said.

“I’m quiet. It is important for me to be able to focus on my game, always on what can happen in the last match.

“Everything that remains to be done regarding contracts is a secondary issue and remains in the background.”
