Romelu Lukaku was devastated after the final whistle, he took his frustration out on the dugout

The Belgium forward was consoled by Thierry Henry after the final whistle.

A frustrated Romelu Lukaku took his anger out on the dugout after Belgium's 'golden generation' were knocked out of the World Cup following a disappointing 0-0 draw against Croatia.

The expression on his face said it all. After missing a hat-trick of opportunities in the second-half of Thursday's Group F clash at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, a rusty Lukaku was understandably devastated with his efforts.

He found comfort in assistant manager Thierry Henry, who tried to console the former Manchester United and Chelsea forward. But frustration soon kicked in after Morocco's 2-1 win against Canada was confirmed.

On his way to the dressing room, Lukaku landed a solid right jab to the dugout, smashing the window as a result.

As you can see in the footage above, Thierry Henry attempted to console Lukaku, who missed a handful of huge chances after coming on as a half-time substitute.

Belgium needed to beat Croatia in order to progress to the round of 16 and Martinez clearly thought Lukaku was the man to find them a much-needed goal.

But he smashed one chance against the post when the ball dropped to him inside the area, then missed another absolute sitter moments later.

To top off a miserable evening, Lukaku misjudged the flight of the ball and chested it into goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, who probably couldn't believe his luck.

It was a nightmare performance from the Belgian, who was in tears at full-time as Roberto Martinez's side finished third in Group F behind Croatia and Morocco.

Things away from the pitch appear to have been a huge distraction in the Belgium camp. According to reports, a verbal altercation broke out between three first-team players after their World Cup defeat to Morocco.

Belgian publication RTL Sport suggest the altercation took place between Kevin De Bruyne, Jan Vertonghen and Eden Hazard after the defeat to Morocco.

In fact, Romelu Lukaku had to intervene to calm everything down, according to the report.

A crisis meeting was then held at their training centre with Roberto Martinez and executives, but things don't stop there in terms of tensions inside the Belgium camp.

Kevin De Bruyne and Thibaut Courtois haven't spoken to each other for years for personal reasons.

And French publication L'Equipe via RTL suggest Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku are not best friends either, while Eden Hazard and Leandro Trossard do not speak to each other.
