Manchester United legend Roy Keane has slammed Brazil and manager Tite for their “disrespectful” dancing celebrations during their first-half demolition of South Korea.
Goals from Lucas Paqueta, Richarlison, Neymar and Vinicius Jr fired Brazil into a commanding first-half 4-0 lead at the Stadium 974 on Monday evening.
Brazil, who are considered one of the favourites to win the World Cup in Qatar, will now face Croatia in the quarter-finals on 9th December.
However, Keane was far from impressed with how the Brazilian players reacted after they scored in their thumping of South Korea.
Brazil players like Neymar and Vinicius were spotted busting out dance moves after their side’s opener inside the first 10 minutes.
And Brazil manager Tite was dancing on the touchline with in-form Tottenham star Richarlison after his side went 3-0 up against South Korea.
Speaking at half-time, Keane suggested that he was watching Strictly Come Dancing with how the Brazil players and manager behaved in the first half.
The ITV pundit insisted that it was “disrespectful” for Brazil to continue with their dance celebrations after Vinicius’ opener.
“I can’t believe what I’m watching. I’ve never seen so much dance. It’s like watching Strictly,” Keane said on ITV.
“I think it’s disrespectful dancing like that every time they score. I don’t mind the first jig, or whatever it was, for the first goal, but not every time.
“It’s disrespectful. Even their manager gets involved. I don’t like it.”
Rangers legend Ally McCoist, who was on commentary for Brazil’s 4-1 win, didn’t agree with Keane’s harsh criticism of the celebrations.
“I can see Roy’s points but I don’t have a problem with it honestly, particularly when it’s the brilliant Brazilians,” he said.
“Maybe it’s wrong to say that only they should be doing it, that’s not the case, I just think the way they’ve performed it just kind of goes hand in hand with their football.
“So, I don’t think there’s anything too wrong with it.”
