Ilkay Gundogan had a priceless reaction when Roy Keane called him a 'special' player, he still garners massive respect

Roy Keane called Ilkay Gundogan a 'special' player after the Manchester City star played down his skillset following their victory over Chelsea.

Man City beat Chelsea 1-0 after they were confirmed as Premier League champions following Arsenal's defeat at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Erling Haaland hilariously gatecrashed Jack Grealish's post-match interview as he expressed his love to him in a hilarious moment.

Gundogan, who has starred for the Blues in the run-in, also spoke to Sky Sports after the match. In a modest interview, he played down his skillset despite scoring a stunning goal against Everton earlier this month.

He said he wasn't a special player to which Keane disagreed with as he gave the German midfielder a huge compliment.

The Manchester United legend told Gundogan: "I'd like to disagree... you said you're not a special player, I think you are a special player. Well done!"

The 32-year-old replied: "Thank you very much. I appreciate it."

Sky Sports host Dave Jones added: "He doesn't say that very often, Ilkay. So, that's quite something."

Fans online loved the exchange between Keane and Gundogan.

One Twitter user wrote: "Look how pleased he is to hear that from Roy!"

A second tweeted: "He is a special player, would be a travesty to lose him."

Gundogan has produced the goods when his team have needed him the most, garnering praise from critics and his teammates alike.

But he could call time on his career at the Etihad, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

Though reports suggest Man City will offer him a new deal amid interest from Barcelona.
