Roy Keane tells Manchester United the two players they need to sign this summer

Roy Keane has given his verdict.

Roy Keane has told Manchester United which players they need to sign this summer after their 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag's side ended what has been a largely successful Premier League campaign by securing third place in the table.

They will now compete in next season's Champions League, and could complete a domestic double this season by defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final this weekend.

Looking ahead to the summer, there are key issues that Ten Hag will need to solve. The first is the need to sign a striker, with Marcus Rashford carrying the majority of the goalscoring burden this season.

They have been linked with a move for Tottenham star Harry Kane, although convincing Spurs chairman Daniel Levy to sell the striker will certainly be a challenge.

However, The Telegraph reported last month that United have made initial moves to sign Kane, with his proven goalscoring ability, link-up play and leadership making him an ideal fit for Ten Hag and his tactical style.

Now, the Dutchman has been advised by United legend Keane on who he should sign this summer.

Keane on Man Utd signings

As well as Kane, United have also been linked with moves for Chelsea's Mason Mount and West Ham's Declan Rice.

But while Keane believes Rice would be a 'decent' signing to go alongside Kane, he is less certain about Mount moving to Old Trafford.

Speaking on Sky Sports (quotes via Manchester Evening News), he explained: "I wouldn't be so sure about Mount. They're going to be linked with lots of players but the one that would excite you is Kane.

"Mount has just gone off the boil a little but I know he's bounced back and he's got quality.

"I was raving about him a few years ago but he's just gone missing the last year - a few injuries, the fact he can't get in a bad Chelsea team. I wouldn't be hanging my hat too much on him in terms of improving United and closing the gap.

"He's a good player but would he improved Man United? I'm not so sure.

"I think Rice would be a decent signing, but in terms of the excitement and the goalscoring, you'd go all out for Kane. But can you see Spurs selling him to Man United? Very, very difficult."
