Roy Keane had everyone in stitches after watching Pep Guardiola's awkward pre-match interview

Roy Keane said what was on everyone's mind after watching Pep Guardiola's interview ahead of Manchester City's FA Cup clash with Arsenal.

The Premier League's top two sides are going at it for the first time this season at the Etihad Stadium in their fourth-round clash.

City sit five points behind Arsenal in the league, who are in fine form under Guardiola's protege Mikel Arteta.

On the other hand, the reigning champions have lost three games this term, the same amount as the whole of last season.

Guardiola hit the headlines following last week's 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur by challenging his team to play with more 'fire' during games.

His demeanour since City's return to action last month has been less than enthusiastic. It was evident when he spoke to ITV's Gabriel Clarke just before kick-off.

When asked if he would share a drink with Arteta at full-time, he replied: "More than welcome." Guardiola then walked away without responding to Clarke's well wishes.

Mark Pougatch and Ian Wright weren't pleased with Guardiola's conduct in the interview, remarking Clarke's questions weren't difficult to answer.

While this chat is going on, Keane is in the middle of the duo with a smile. The ex-Manchester United captain was putting his response together in his head, knowing it was a good one.

Keane took his moment and said: "I think Pep should smile a bit more - and that’s coming from me!"

Pougatch and Wright burst into fits of laughter. They know better than anyone how no-nonsense and frosty Keane can be.

Interestingly, City started the game with a strong team, while Arsenal made several changes. Guardiola refused to answer any questions regarding Arteta's decisions, which included Gabriel Martinelli and captain Martin Odegaard on the bench.

He asked: "Mikel has come in? [No he hasn't spoken yet] Okay, ask him. I don't know, it's his decision, I approve of what every manager does.

"I don't know, [it's] a strong team. Arsenal. To beat Arsenal you have to have quality and just take a look at what you have to do."

"It's a decision for Mikel so what can I say? It's Arsenal and I take it seriously."

The game is currently 0-0 at halftime. Both teams have cancelled one another out, although there have been chances. Erling Haaland came close for the home side, while Leandro Trossard forced a save from City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.
