Salt Bae shows off "permanently reserved" table as a shrine to the late Diego Maradona

The celebrity chef known as Salt Bae has gone viral again, this time for a video showing his Diego Maradona shrine in his restaurant.

He recently angered football fans when he was allowed onto the pitch following Argentina's epic World Cup win over France.

Having got onto the pitch, he was seen chasing after players for videos and photos, as well as even getting his hands on the sacred World Cup trophy.

Fans took a real distain to his presence on the pitch, especially when he tried to pester Messi in the wake of what is his greatest achievement, only to be completely ignored by the Argentinian forward.

Now he's released another video revealing a shrine in tribute to the late football icon.

The Turkish cook and social media star - real name Nusret Gökçe - posted a video of a shrine in one of his restaurants to Maradona.

It even revealed that he has a permanent reservation for him - the table has two seats are pulled up, but it is laid with only one plate and one set of cutlery - and a brass "reserved" sign.

Also on the table are flowers, a lit candle and a photo of the pair from when Maradona visited the restaurant in 2018.

The video was also captioned "Forever reserve." which was shared with his 49.8 million followers on Instagram, who's profile is littered with famous football icons including Ronaldo Nazario, Robert Lewandowski and Angel Di Maria among many more.

Recent reports have revealed the chef has been banned from the US Open Cup following his World Cup antics.

According to FIFA, only a 'select few' can touch the World Cup trophy, including former winners and heads of state, and Gökçe's actions definitely crossed a line.

It was revealed that he managed to worm his way onto the pitch due to his close relationship with FIFA president Gianni Infantino, who has been at his restaurant before.

However, he did hit back at critics by sharing footage of Messi at his restaurant back in 2018.
