Former England manager Sam Allardyce has claimed that he could turn around Leeds United’s fortunes this season after the sacking of Jesse Marsch.
Marsch, who succeeded Marcelo Bielsa last February, was axed earlier this month after a disappointing run with the Premier League club in the current campaign.
Michael Skubala has taken over as caretaker manager after Marsch’s dismissal, with 17th-place Leeds only one point clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Big Sam has been out of football management since his run at West Brom ended in 2021 after the club were relegated to the Championship.
Disgraced former Sky Sports presenters Richard Keys and Andy Gray had previously backed Allardyce for the Leeds head coach role after Bielsa was sacked.
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Allardyce has insisted that he would be interested in arriving at Elland Road if the Leeds hierarchy placed a call to him.

The former Everton, West Ham and Sunderland boss added that he “wouldn’t see any problem sorting” Leeds out if he became the new head coach.
“I’d have thought by now if they were interested in me, they know where I am, so call me,” Allardyce said.
“If someone called me I wouldn’t turn down going chatting about it, certainly not at Leeds United, but there has been no call, so before anyone starts any speculation, nobody from Elland Road has called me about the job in hand.
“I watched them against Man United and I wouldn’t see any problem sorting them out, from my point of view with my experience.”
