Al Nassr could terminate contract of player due to Asian Champions League rule which will impact Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr could terminate contract of player due to Asian Champions League rule which will impact Cristiano Ronaldo

Al Nassr could be set to lose one of their foreign stars.

Al Nassr could terminate the contract of one of their star players due to a Asian Champions League rule, according to stunning reports.

Cristiano Ronaldo's team recently won the Arab Club Champions Cup after beating Al Hilal 2-1 in a dramatic showdown.

They came from behind as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner bagged a stunning brace to help his side to glory.

If Al Nassr want to win the Asian Champions League, then they will have to make some ruthless cuts to their current squad.

According to Spanish media outlet Sport, the Saudi Pro League outfit could terminate Talisca's contract to comply with rules.

The Asian Confederation only allows five players born outside of Asia to play in the Asian Champions League.

As a result, Al Nassr are expected to cut Talisca, prioritising Ronaldo, Sadio Mane, Seko Fofana, Marcelo Brozovic and Alex Telles.

Talisca, 29, has been at Al Nassr since 2021, having joined from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande.

He's scored an impressive 44 goals in 65 games in all competitions for the Saudi club.

But his services could be surplus to requirements, with Al Nassr reportedly set to axe the Brazilian amid the rule on foreign players.

Talisca's future remains uncertain and further reports suggest a return to Europe is a possibility. Besiktas, who had him on their books before his spell in China, have shown an interest in the player.

Al Nassr aren't the only team who face a difficult decision as Al Hilal, who boast the likes of Neymar, Malcom and Ruben Neves, as well as Al Ittihad, who have Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante in the squad, will face the same situation in the group stage.

Al Nassr, meanwhile, have lost back-to-back league games to Steven Gerrard's Al Ettifaq and Al Taawoun since claiming the Arab Club Champions Cup.
