Sean Dyche turning up for Everton’s beep test in his shorts and being unfazed by seven-degree weather shows he is a different breed

"Dyche 3:16 is really back," one fan said. Not even a cold day in Merseyside can faze new Everton manager Sean Dyche.

New Everton manager Sean Dyche wowed fans with his elite mentality after turning up for his team’s beep test in his shorts in seven-degree weather.

Dyche, who was axed by Burnley last season, made his sensational return to management after inking a two-and-a-half-year deal with Everton.

Relegation-threatened Everton were initially linked with former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa to succeed Frank Lampard, who was sacked by the club last month.

However, Dyche was appointed Everton boss after Bielsa rejected the opportunity and the Burnley legend now faces a monumental task at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are level on points with 20th-place Southampton and are two points behind 18th-place Bournemouth and 17th-place Wolves.

Dyche’s first match in charge of Premier League strugglers Everton will be on Saturday when his side welcome league leaders Arsenal to Goodison Park.

Ahead of the Premier League clash with the Gunners, Dyche impressed fans with his choice of outfit as he turned up in Merseyside to put his team through a beep test.

Footage of the beep test (which can be viewed in the video player above) made the rounds on social media, with one fan saying it is the “most Sean Dycheiest thing he could have done.”

One fan posted: “Yeah, Everton are defo staying up.”

“Tears. Dyche 3:16 is really back,” another added.

One Twitter user wrote: “As an Arsenal fan, I’m now stressed about Saturday.”

While a fourth tweeted: “This new manager bounce is inevitable.”

And a fifth said: “I have every faith that Sean Dyche knows exactly what he’s doing and will succeed.”

Dyche has vowed to put Everton “back on track” and restore “some of the basic principles” the Premier League club had “stood for for a long time.”

He told Everton’s official website: “It’s an honour to become Everton manager. My staff and I are ready and eager to help get this great club back on track.

“I know about Everton’s passionate fanbase and how precious this club is to them. We’re ready to work and ready to give them what they want.

“That starts with sweat on the shirt, effort and getting back to some of the basic principles of what Everton Football Club has stood for for a long time.

“We want to bring back a good feeling. We need the fans, we need unity and we need everyone aligned. That starts with us as staff and players.”
