Sky Sports cuts ties with YouTuber IShowSpeed after misogynistic comments surface

Sky Sports has reportedly cut ties with IShowSpeed after the YouTuber's previous misogynistic comments emerged online.

The popular content creator has rose to fame this year for his undying love of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United.

Speed even flew in from America to attend catch a glimpse of his hero in action during Manchester United's Carabao Cup clash with Fulham – only for Ronaldo to be left off the team sheet altogether.

The Twitch streamer has built up such a cult following that he even appeared on Sky Sports' broadcast of the match, running into the likes of Jamie Redknapp and Louis Saha in the studio before hitting it off with pitch-side reporter Geoff Shreeves.

With Speed boasting 13 million subscribers on YouTube and 5.4 million followers on Instagram, clips of his various interactions went viral online when he and Sky shared them.

One of the most popular posts showed Speed hearing the news the Ronaldo was left out of the match day squad.

Head-in-hands, he yelled: "I don't understand. I travelled all the way from America, all the way, just to see this guy. No!"

But it has since been revealed that the British sports broadcasters have decided they won't be collaborating with Speed, meaning he won't appear on air anymore.

Sky's call comes after old clips emerged on social media allegedly showing Speed making misogynistic and derogatory comments towards women during old streams.

According to The Athletic, Sky Sports have now removed all content featuring the YouTuber from their social media channels and will no longer be working with him in the future.

It's understood Speed has been suspended from streaming service Twitch a couple of times for aggressive behaviour.

According to Freshers, the 17-year-old was "expressly banned for 'sexual coercion or intimidation' because his comments breached Twitch community guidelines that forbid 'sexual assault' or 'material that encourages or promotes it'."
