Someone Put The Famous Steven Gerrard Commentary Over Trent Alexander-Arnold's Goal

Someone Put The Famous Steven Gerrard Commentary Over Trent Alexander-Arnold's Goal

The iconic commentary from Andy Gray was originally for Steven Gerrard's goal in the Champions League but it's been changed for Trent's goal

Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal has been made even better, with someone putting the commentary from Steven Gerrard's famous strike in 2004 over the top of it.

Alexander-Arnold's attacking prowess makes him a potent weapon for Liverpool and he used it to great effect on Thursday night, as the Reds defeated Newcastle United.

The full back rifled home an absolute screamer from outside the area, to wrap up a 3-1 win for Jurgen Klopp's side and take them within a point of leaders Manchester City.

Now Alexander-Arnold's goal has been made even better, with one Twitter using swapping out the commentary from last night with Andy Gray's for Steven Gerrard's Champions League goal in 2004 against Olympiakos.

Whilst the full back's goal on Thursday did guarantee all three points for the title challengers, after Newcastle had actually taken the lead, it definitely wasn't quite as important or dramatic.

Gerrard's goal came in the final group game of the Champions League 17 years ago, with the Premier League side going into the game behind their opponents in the group and facing elimination from the competition.

Olympiakos, like Newcastle, took an early lead, only for the hosts to come back and take the lead, with Neil Mellor putting his side ahead with nine minutes to go.

With the game still in the balance Gerrard struck his famous goal, leading to Gray to scream 'You beauty! What a hit son, what a hit!'

Thiago was certainly impressed with Alexander-Arnold's goal on Thursday night, with his reaction proving just how impressive the strike was.

It's certainly a compliment considering the Spain midfielder's own brilliant goal in the Champions League recently, the team's goal of the season competition is certainly heating up.

As well as showing off his attacking skills, the 23-year-old right back was also proving how good he can be at defending, as he made a brilliant goal saving tackle on Ryan Fraser.

Jonjo Shelvey had put the visitors ahead after just seven minutes, but they were behind before the half hour mark, with Diogo Jota and Mohamed Salah scoring, before Alexander-Arnold wrapped up the points.

The loss leaves Eddie Howe's side down in 19th place in the league, three points behind 17th place Watford who have a game in hand.
