Manchester United won the Europa League last night thanks to a routine 2-0 win over Ajax, and former red Phil Neville absolutely loved it.

Paul Pogba opened the scoring in the 18th minute via a strike that deflected off Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez outside of the box after an impressive start.

In the second half, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, one of the club's star performers in Europe in 2016/17, doubled United's advantage with a smart, instinctive finish from a corner-kick in the second half and that was enough to overcome Peter Bosz's talented, but inexperienced Ajax, and lift the only UEFA club trophy United had failed to win in their hostory - as well all-importantly securing automatic qualification to the Champions League next season.

TV cameras captued the crazy celebrations from all those involved at United - ranging from Paul Pogba throwing shapes, Jose Mourinho embracing his son at the final whistle, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic finding his new favourite banner.

Away from the pitch in the commentary box, former United man Phil Neville was absolutely loving it. The younger Neville, who won six Premier Leagues, three FA Cups and one Champions League at Old Trafford after progressing into the first-team from the club's famous 'Class of 92' youth team, was covering the game as a pundit for BBC Radio 5 Live.

And in a clip published online, Neville can be seen leaping out of his seat in between commentator John Murray and fellow pundit Robbie Savage in the Friends Arena press box, and celebrating wildly when the final whistle blew.

An animated Neville couldn't help but drop his mic and throw up a fist pump when United captured the one major European club trophy they didn't have stocked in their packed trophy cabinet.

Going into the game, Neville explained that he didn't really want to be in the game following the tragic turn of events that took place in Manchester on Monday evening.

"I actually don't want to be at this game tonight, I really don't," he said to BBC Radio 5 Live.

"I would prefer to be in Manchester and try to help and support in Manchester."

Neville managed to arrange for some extra supplies to be delivered to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. The 40-year old, who has been prolific in fundraising for the hospital, got in touch with someone at Hotel Football, which he part- owns with many of his Class of 92 colleagues, and patients and staff received food.

A brilliant gesture from Phil, who was well within his rights to go mental when his former club tasted victory last night.
