An outfield player going in goal is always a special moment to savour and when they perform heroics when called upon as an emergency goalkeeper, it's even better. Today, MK Dons striker Alex Revell was summoned into such a situation and helped the Dons to a point against Preston North End in spectacular fashion.

Revell began the Championship match on the bench and was then called upon in the 67th minute, replacing Nicky Maynard in the hope of grabbing all three points for his team. Instead, the 32-year-old striker ended up replacing American goalkeeper Cody Cropper after the stopper was red carded for bringing down Eoin Doyle and giving away a penalty in the 81st minute.

Up stepped Joe Garner, aiming to seal all three points for North End, but instead the hero of the day was to be Revell, who guessed correctly and repelled the spot kick.

Take a bow!
