Erik ten Hag identified the one 'skill' Marcus Rashford still needs to learn

United have been in electric form in recent months after a rocky start to ten Hag’s reign.

Indeed, just three months after United were crushed 6-3 in the derby they are now breathing down Manchester City’s neck, having climbed up to fourth place in the league

Rashford in particular has been in scintillating form for the Red Devils. On Tuesday, the 25-year-old tapped into an empty net in the closing stages of United’s 3-0 victory over Bournemouth, scoring for the sixth successive time at Old Trafford.

It was the forward's 12th goal of the campaign, more than twice as many as any of his teammates.

However, Ten Hag claimed the United man can still improve.

Rashford must keep the 'focus’

The United boss insisted that Rashford and his team-mate Anthony Martial will score more goals provided they keep their focus throughout games.

In an injury-hit season, Martial has still scored five times, whereas last year he and Rashford only managed six United goals between them.

Nevertheless, both can still improve, according to their manager. In his press conference, before United’s FA Cup third-round fixture against Everton, ten Hag said that Rashford and Martial can be even more clinical.

"First of all, keep the focus always and it doesn't matter if you are in the game or if you are not in the game, keep focusing on scoring the goal," Ten Hag said, via the Manchester Evening News.

"I think a player like Marcus but others in our squad - Anthony Martial is the same - when they stay in the game, mentally, focused, 100% concentration, they always have the skills and only need one moment, one moment to change the game in a positive way.

"If he develops that skill he will score more goals and contribute to a successful season."
