Erik ten Hag looking to sign 'his own Dusan Tadic' in the summer window

Erik ten Hag looking to sign 'his own Dusan Tadic' in the summer window

The Manchester United coach is looking to add more attacking firepower to his Manchester United side this summer transfer window.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has got his eye on someone who could be the new 'Dusan Tadic' for his side.

Ten Hag is eyeing up Ajax's Mohammed Kudus in this coming transfer window, with plans for the 22-year-old to become the Dutchman's own version of Dusan Tadic at the Theatre of Dreams.

The Red Devils are looking to add more to their squad, with a major focus on the attacking side of things.

Another raid on Ajax cannot be rules out, as United splashed the cash last summer to sign Lisandro Martinez and Antony from Ten Hag's former club.

United have concrete interest in Kudus as they look to sign a first-choice striker at the end of the season, with there being an expectancy that Wout Weghorst will not be offered a permanent deal once his loan expires.

GiveMeSport journalist Dean Jones believes that if Kudus were to join the ranks at Old Trafford, he could become Ten Hag's own version of Tadic due to the forward's versatility.

"In the time that Ten Hag has gone, Kudus has continued his development and he's moving forward as a player,” he said.

“I think, to be honest, it would probably be that versatility and everything Tadic was able to do - I can see why you would think that could be reflected in a player like Kudus."

Manchester United's squad lacks depth all over the pitch, with strengthening needed in most positions - in addition to a striker, it is rumoured that United are in for a goalkeeper, centre-back, right-back, holding midfielder and attacking midfielder in the next few transfer windows.

With an expected takeover on the cards for the Red Devils, a summer transfer war chest is expected to be given to Ten Hag, whoever the new owners may be, as the Dutchman will be tasked with guiding United back to their former glories.

United have overperformed this season, sitting comfortably in the top 4 of the Premier League, in the semi-finals of the FA Cup and in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, having won the League Cup in February.

A number of costly injuries to Christian Eriksen, Alejandro Garnacho, and Anthony Martial as well as another lengthy suspension to Casemiro has hampered the side's league form recently, further highlighting the need to add squad depth.

United have heavily relied on Marcus Rashford for goals this season, as the 25-year-old currently sits on 27 goals and 9 assists so far, a career-best return.

Adding an attacker like Kudus would alleviate some of the pressure off Rashford, while providing ten Hag with another reliable source of goals in attack.
