The Footage Of Thierry Henry Being Mic'd Up On The Touchline At Montreal Impact Is Still Hilarious

The Footage Of Thierry Henry Being Mic'd Up On The Touchline At Montreal Impact Is Still Hilarious

He spent two years in the MLS with Montreal Impact.

Back in 2020, former Montreal Impact manager Thierry Henry was mic'd up as he patrolled the touchline during a defeat to Nashville SC - and it gave fans a fascinating view on what it's like to be the boss.

The former Arsenal striker, who was appointed as head coach of the Major League Soccer club in November 2019, experienced mixed fortunes in the Eastern Conference.

But that loss against Nashville SC, who sat in seventh place at the time, was one of the most disappointing performances from Henry's reign in charge.

The 44-year-old expressed his concern on the touchline. In fact, after the full-time whistle, footage of his passionate exploits were posted online, showing fans what the former Barcelona and Arsenal forward is like as a manager.

I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him, that's all I'll say.

You can see the incredible footage below.

Henry isn't the only MLS player to have been given the mic treatment in recent years.

Back in August 2018, Juventus came up against the MLS All-Stars at the Mercedez-Benz Stadium in Atlanta when former Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Guzan was mic'd up for the MLS team.

Guzan could freely communicate with the pundits in the studio during live passages of play and it was pure entertainment.

Although this game was largely an exhibition match and so the end result is not too detrimental, the MLS attempts to allure more fans by offering something different was certainly welcome.

The NFL regularly mics up its athletes for its "Mic'd Up" series, taking fans inside the game while also providing funny moments, but to see this happen in football is refreshing.

I say let's bring it to the Premier League sooner rather than later. What do you think?
