Thiago Alcantara's Most Satisfying Piece Of Play Came In 2016, He Made It Look Easy

Thiago Alcantara's Most Satisfying Piece Of Play Came In 2016, He Made It Look Easy

Thiago Alcantara's goal for Liverpool was so aesthetically pleasing, but this pass was extraordinary.

Thiago Alcantara had us all gawking on Wednesday night when he produced the most aesthetically pleasing goal of the season.

The silky Spaniard conjured up an outrageous half volley against Porto and the technique was something else.

There was one camera angle in particular that made the strike look even more special.

Manager Jurgen Klopp called it a "thunderball" and said "whoever sees Thiago in training knows he has the technique to do it".

But you actually only need to go back to a game in 2016 and see that Thiago has that quality in abundance.

Playing for Bayern Munich against Hamburg, he cut across the ball in sublime fashion on the half volley, sending Franck Ribery through down the left with the most satisfying pass.

The slow motion replays capture an absolute moment of magic from one of the most gifted midfield players in the game.

Ribery picked out Joshua Kimmich, who scored at the far post for the only goal of the game.

But it's all about the utter wizardry from Thiago. In fact, Manuel Neuer enjoyed the pass so much he rushed out over his goal to take part in a wild celebratory embrace with his teammate.

After his glorious piece of play against Porto, the former Barcelona man was asked if he had scored a 'prettier' goal.

"I think so, yeah," he replied to BT Sport's Des Kelly.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was in the same interview and was left in disbelief over the ridiculously nonchalant answer, commenting "What?! It's alright for some."
