Thiago Alcantara Produced Priceless Reaction To Trent Alexander-Arnold's Thunderbolt Vs Newcastle

Thiago Alcantara lost his mind when Trent Alexander-Arnold fired in a worldie against Newcastle.

Liverpool fans erupted in celebration when Trent Alexander-Arnold rifled one into the top corner on Thursday night, but nobody had a better reaction to the 25-yard rocket than Thiago Alcantara.

The Spanish midfielder had the perfect view for Alexander-Arnold's thunderbolt, standing right behind the England defender as he let fly from range.

When the ball was wallopped into the top bins, sealing a 3-1 win for Liverpool against Newcastle in the 87th minute, Thiago completely lost his mind.

Other teammates dashed to celebrate with Alexander-Arnold, but he simply turned away and put his hands on his head - in complete disbelief over the sensational strike.

Summer signing Ibrahima Konate was also stunned by what Alexander-Arnold produced, as another video shows:

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona man knows all about what it's like to score a beautiful goal at the Kop, having conjured up the most exquisite half volley in a 2-0 Champions League win over Porto last month.

From similar range, he cut across the ball superbly with glorious technique.

With Alexander-Arnold's belter and Thiago's satisfying stunner, as well as Mo Salah's ridiculous solo goals, Liverpool's goal of the season competition is going to be a very tough one to decide.

The 23-year-old has shown that level of quality on many an occasion but was desperate to score a goal of this ilk.

"I've been waiting for that [type of goal] for five years," he told BT Sport post-match.

"I've had a few ones from the edge of box and dragged them. I've caught that one sweet and it nestled in the top corner, a sweet strike and put the game to bed."

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile called the goal "unbelievable" and said Alexander-Arnold's shooting ability is "different level".

Liverpool were 1-0 down early on when former player Jonjo Shelvey gave the visitors a shock lead, but went in ahead at half-time after Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino struck.

Prior to his netbuster past Martin Dubravka, Alexander-Arnold made a crucial tackle to deny Ryan Fraser after he looked to get on the end of a Jacob Murphy cross.

There were appeals for a penalty but VAR ruled the defender got a touch on the ball.
